CHP Scares Motorcyclist

Hey guys, I was browsing around on YouTube and came across the following video. Check it out.

As you saw, the ZX6R rider is surprised by the parked CHP as he comes around a corner, attempts to brake and lowsides.

Now, I have mixed feelings about this. I know some of you may immediately say that it’s the CHP’s fault. I mean they are notorious, especially nowadays, to give as many tickets as possible. Hey, the state needs money right?

But then, there is the flip side. If the rider was riding within his abilities as well as the speed limit, then maybe the accident would not have happened.

The video was shot from far away so it is difficult to judge exactly how fast the rider was going, but it didn’t look that fast.

So, I guess both sides have something to think about. The CHP about their reputation as vengeful anti-motorcycle fanatics, and riders: Hey, if you’re not doing anything wrong, why should you be afraid of the cops? And cops, if the riders aren’t doing anything wrong, leave them alone!

Although in this case, I am sure every law enforcement agency will side with the CHP. After all, they didn’t do anything. They were just parked there (with the engine running). Right…?

What happened afterward? Did he get a ticket? For what?
