Komodo FX
Color: Black/ White
Size: Medium

This set of gloves would be my absolute favorite pair, had it not been for several issues. Overall, the fit is superb; like they were custom sewn for my hands. They provide phenomenal feel/contact of the motorcycle controls. In fact, most times it almost felt like I was not wearing gloves. They’re that good.
They provide the absolute maximum in protection, while being the lightest in weight of all the gloves I have reviewed thus far. On top of that, they provide good air flow from vents on the knuckle protectors and from the perforations on the fingers.
Now, on to the not so great points. The sizing of Komodo gloves seem to run one size larger than most. So with these gloves, I had to go with medium; large was too big, and it felt like my hand were floating in them. On top of that, within 18 months, two of the fingers came apart at the seams. I had to have them refurbished.

Komodo wouldn’t replace them because the FX are “race” specific gloves and not designed for normal street use.
The plastic vents on the fingers were also very uncomfortable at first. I called Komodo and was told the vents were made out of memory plastic and would eventually mold to fit my hands. Okay… but then the vent on the left ring finger cracked and the mesh on the inside began to separate. It hasn’t yet become unusable but it is damn annoying.
The wrist strap is too long and the Velcro hook portion doesn’t fully engage the loop. But eventually the gloves broke in, but these took quite a while more so than other gloves I have reviewed.

For the price of the gloves, I was let down by the issues that I’ve had. I wouldn’t buy another pair unless they were heavily discounted and then the purchase would still be questionable. Price paid: $150.00 and used daily.
