Hey guys, so I am going to talk about something else today and give Sunsquirt a rest.

After coming to Florida, I’ve noticed that there is a shortage in female riders. So far, I have only seen one chick that rides, and that was at the dealership. All other females that I have seen on a bike have been riding bitch. Where are all the chicks? I have no idea, but I will make a point to try and find them.

I guess with me down here and Amber, that makes three huh? Maybe girls here aren’t as libral as they are in California? Well, I recently read somewhere that only eighteen percent of riders are female. That’s roughly around 4.3 million in the United States. In addition, they average about 42 years young, have a fifty-six percent chance of being married, a twenty-eight percent chance of possessing a college degree, and a thirty-five percent chance of holding a technical or professional position.

What do these stats mean? They are out there! Where are you guys? I need someone to cruise around town with! Hit me up gals! I know you are out there. You can get my info off the Bullpen.

Hey guys! Welcome back for another episode on Sunsquirt. Today all we’re doing is just taking off the ugly rear fender. It’s actually really easy, just use an allen key and take out a few screws. Clip the wires that attach to your license plate light and tuck them in your trunk, then screw everything back on nice and neat. As of now, it is not street legal because it doesn’t have a license plate light, but that can easily be remedied. Just check out the video on just how fast we did it!

Hey guys! Alright, so we all know that different states have different rules. For bikes it is a drastic difference between California and Florida. Let’s dive right into what they are. The number one rule that we don’t have here is the helmet requirement! I know, very crazy.

As soon as I entered the state I saw a group of riders on Harleys all without helmets. I can understand if people want to have the wind in their hair or be really vain and not get messy helmet hair, but I personally don’t think that its worth losing your life over. Things that come attached to that law is that if you choose to ride without a helmet you have to have at least a 10,000 dollar insurance policy.

This plays right into the next rule. If you ride with a helmet you don’t need insurance. Meaning you don’t have to have insurance when you leave the dealership with your new bike, and unlike California they don’t get on peoples butts about getting insurance at all. Even though they don’t have twisties here there are lots of straightaways and people go way faster. There are also a lot of rich cops out. From what I’ve seen 75% of the cops I saw had Chargers or Impalas. The other fifteen are the standard Crown Victoria as in Cali. They also have no problem in meeting their monthly quotas. In the short time that I’ve been here, I have seen at least 2 people pulled over each day. Talk about raking in the money.

In order to obtain your license in CA you can either take the MSF course and take the DMV written portion, or take both the skills and written test at the DMV. In Florida they used to administer the skills and writing test only. Now they have taken measures to make things a little safer (haha right…”safer”) and have those who want to get the M1 equivalent to take the MSF course. DMV does not handle any testing. There are just so many different rules out here!

Speaking about DMV, out here its called Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Talk about a mouthful. They also have the different departments located in different locations. If you want to get a license you have to go to one place, but if you have to also get anything to do with vehicle plates it’ll be across town. Talk about burning lots of gas and your time waiting in line.

Anyways, the next rule that is really dumb: No lane splitting. I know what you guys are thinking. I can’t get to wherever faster by using a bike to cut through traffic. I don’t understand for the life of me why Florida would enforce this law because 1. Bikes that sit in traffic overheat easily, and with Florida’s heat and humidity it can get really bad 2. It is more dangerous for a bike to sit in traffic because of sudden stops. The car behind could potentially hit you if they aren’t paying attention.

What is also different between Florida and California is that people in Florida drive a lot crazier than in Cali. People in California drive fast and aggressive. People in Florida just don’t pay attention at all. This all leads to more hazardous conditions in which to ride. I’ve also seen a lot more bikes out here. There isn’t a day where I don’t at least see five riders (with or without helmets). So far, I haven’t seen any stunters, but I’m sure as bike night rolls around there will be plenty of that. So keep an eye out for those posts.

Florida seems a lot more relaxed than California. Maybe its because of the heat. Ha ha. Well until next time guys, peace!

Hey guys! So after having to part with Candy, the 2007 R6, my heart was broken. It was almost like breaking up with my boyfriend! So once again, my poor little heart’s on the mend. But what better way to cure a broken heart than to move on to a hotter, faster, sexier ma- er… bike? I’m going to cut loose with the hot sleek Suzuki Gsxr600 K8! Check out the video to see what I mean.

As for the naming of my bike, I’m a chick. Sue me! It was either that or Daisy. Take your pick! I’ve met guys who name their cars and bikes with way fruitier names than mine.
As always, stay tuned for more updates! Peace!
