Hey guys, so today I am going to install the front, rear, and chain on the Zx6r from Renthal Ltd. They were cool enough to exchange the 42 tooth rear sprocket for the 44 tooth one for more pick up. Check out the video.

So, I am not as mechanically inclined as other staff members. Sue me. LOL! Anyways, I was able to take it out for a quick spin before it started pouring rain again. The sprocket change gave the Zx6r a much needed upmh. It takes off like a bullet now!

We changed the front to a minus tooth and the rear to a plus two. I believe that is the maximum you can do before the bike starts performing strangely.

Renthal Ltd produce high quality 7075 T6 aluminum alloy rear chainwheels that are 66% lighter than steel, yet incredibly durable. Their advanced tooth profile, concentricity and accuracy of fit provide maximum power transfer and long-life.

Stay tuned for when we take this lean, mean, green machine out when the rain clears! Peace…

Hey guys! Today Renthal Ltd. sent us a set of sprockets for the Kawasaki Ninja Zx6r. The kit consisted of a rear 42 tooth sprocket, a front sprocket, and a new chain.

Unfortunately, we did not think the kit would do anything beneficial for the Zx6r, so we sent back the 42 tooth rear sprocket for a 44 tooth one. That way, we would have one down in front and two up in the back. That would give the low end pick up the Zx6r desperately needs in my opinion.

We will update you as soon as we get the rear sprocket and install it. Stay tuned!

Hi guys! It’s GooDy yet again! Today, my good buddy from MotoWerkz hooked us up with their MotoGP style exhaust for my Ninja Zx6r. It is installed near the muffler inlet to reflect and dissipate sound energy, reducing the decibel level as rpm’s increase. Because the open area of the cone is greater than the area of the collector or exhaust pipe, back-pressure is minimized, so you reduce noise with little or no power loss. The cones are made from T-304 stainless steel and weigh less than .5 lbs. each.

The MotoGP style exhaust is the hottest style you can put on your bike at this time. It’s loud, it looks so cool, and it releases the true power of the bike. Whenever you mention GP styled exhausts, people are usually afraid that they will lose torque or back pressure on the bike.

But having it on my bike right now, compared to the Akrapovic unit I had earlier, the Ninja really picks up more power at any rmp. There is no losing of power at the low-end because you still have the cat on. Basically, see it as losing a bunch of unwanted weight from your bike.

So far, I’ve gotten so many compliments on how cool it looks at bike meets everywhere. It really makes the Ninja look like a MotoGP bike. After you remove the undertail section, the bike looks even sexier. And the sound is amazing, but it is loud. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not too loud for daily riding but every time you gun it, it screams!

The bike is quicker now than when it had the Akrapovic. And the most important things is that you lose almost 20lbs of stock exhaust. Not only do you remove the stock muffler, you remove the whole mid pipe. That’s big crash diet.

Right now, it runs fine with out tuning, but if you have a power commander, Motowerkz offers a map to make your bike even run better. We will keep updated on this. Till next time guys, Peace!

Sup guys? Today the good folks from TechSpec-USA sent us some side and tank grips to test out.

It’s really been bad trying to ride the Zx6r really hard without shifting in my seat. Both on the street and on the track. I really think tank grips should really come stock on bike.

The TecSpec Company offers two styles of tank skins. The Fusion skin is thinner and looks a bit better in my opinion. The Snake skin, however is track approved for the aggressive rider. Check them out!

After testing both styles, I couldn’t believe how easy I am able to hang my body from my bike. I can’t wait until my next trackday. With this side tank pad, I can brake later than usual because of the shorter time use to set up my body position. It really makes me feel more comfortable before turns and during turns. Big bang for your buck guys.

Who I would advise these for: Everybody should have these!

Who I would advise these against: Cheap bastards. Just kidding! Just try it, guys!

Sum: Experience the next level of riding your bike.

Hey, what up everyone? I’m here with an update on my baby green Ninja. Today Alex and I went outside the city to Oakland for some after work, freeway riding. After a long ride, we decided to hit some twisties before we each headed back home.

We switched bikes before we started the twisties because Alex, being the old guy that he is, started to complain about the stiff suspension setup on his bike. Whatever, friends always come first to me (Uh huh, so getting to ride my 848 had nothing to do with it? -Ed).

So Alex was on the Green Ninja and I was on his bike. Then we started to rush through the twisties before it got dark. We didn’t switch back right away. But then we ended up at a rest spot down the end of the twisties for a smoke. I was a little bit upset because Alex was tailgating me the whole time. I thought I lost him though. Hahaha, just kidding!

I turned off the ignition and was taking of my helmet, when I saw Alex looking surprised and walking toward me. The first thing he said was, “Dude! The bike leans by itself!” I was like, “What the hell? There is nothing in this world that leans by itself, okay dude.”

Then Alex turned serious. “Dude I’m serious, you will feel it”. Hmmm, interesting, I thought. So we switch back and hit the twisties once more. We approached an uphill section and I thought, “Let see if you can make me proud, Kawasaki.”

This was actually my first time hitting twisties on this bike so I was a bit apprehensive. Alex had warmed up the tires for me already, so I figured I was good to go. First wide right turn and damn!!! the bike really leaned by itself. I felt like I could do nothing to control it to get it back on the line.

The Zx6r is really different from my Gsxr1000 which I have to fight with it to get it into turns. The chassis is much better than the old 636 and I think I like it the most out of the 600 class. The power is useable but still not enough. Gearing is a bit cheesy compared to the R6. All that can be fix with aftermarket parts so I don’t really mind. So I hoped you enjoyed the quick video up top. It was getting cold and dark so just wait for the next update. As I said power is not enough so we will make it enough. Till next time, peace!

Hey! How’s everything, ladies and gentlemen? Today I have couple of pictures and a video about how I am making the ZX6R look better from stock without hurting your wallet. Check it out!

Now, let’s take off the side mirrors for a more streamlined look (not recommend if you are not familiar riding without them).

We also have to take off passenger pegs because riding a crazy bike like this shouldn’t put your chick in danger. This is the reason we had to do the brake fluid reservoir hide earlier.

Hope you enjoyed spending $0.00 and making your Kawasaki Zx-&r look much cooler!

Who I would recommend these mods for: Anyone who wants a better look for his/her 2008 Zx-6r.

Would I would advise against: Riders with a lot of points on their driving record. You may get tickets for riding with no mirrors. And also players who need to give chicks a ride.

Summary: Can’t complain about great mods that cost you nothing.

One last mod, and it’s the most important one:

Hi gals and guys. Here I am again, it’s GooDy time baby! Today I’m going to introduce you to the newest and youngest steed in the IPM garage, a green 2008 Kawasaki Ninja Zx-6r. It was delivered to my house few days ago, all “limed up.” Yes, I know what you are all thinking, “Go Green!” And sure, why not? It had to be. If you want to go Kawasaki, you have to go green. If not, it will just be like buying a Blue Ferrari. I think you all understand, right?

So, on to my impressions from the first ride on the Zx-6r: I’m convinced this is really good “go” bike. After I put about 100 miles on it, I can say it has the best top end in the 600cc class. I’ve ridden R6′s, 600rr’s and Gsxr-600′s and I can tell you that none of them can beat the Zx6R once it gets going.

But the big question is, “Do we really need top end for a 600cc sportbike?” I mean when you decide to buy a 600cc bike, you are looking for a quick turning bike or maybe you are a new rider stepping up from a 250. Either way, these wouldn’t be riders looking for a 600cc bike with loads of top end.
So, I think Kawasaki made the wrong decision for this class.

On the plus side, it’s lightweight and has a very unique weight distribution. At first, I felt really uncomfortable in the twisties. So I tried to figure out a different way to ride it. Then I found out that if I moved my body a bit backwards toward the tail, it gave me a better balanced position. Because Kawasaki located the engine weight to the front of the bike, when I put myself toward the gas tank, it’s really feel like I am going to endo the bike at anytime.

But, we are talking about a bone stock bike, which this bike will not be for long. Like I said before, every bike has its GOOD, BAD and UGLY. I always believe that. So, for you experienced riders seeking a powerful 600cc sportbike with gobs of top end, then get this 600 rocket. Not so sure it performs at its peek in the twisty streets though. So, to summarize, if you think too much, just go get a R6. If you want something different for your stable, the Zx-6r can do you no wrong. Alright, see you guys soon. Peace.
