I had one of these kits installed on the XR. They are designed for “racers striving for competitive advantages in endurance races.” It came with components including high compression forged pistons (for 11.5:1 compression artio) and high-lift cams (15 degree increase) intended for high output at higher rpm. Reinforced clutch related parts (including springs, outer clutch housings, etc) are included in the kit to meet increased power output.

Honda claims a 15% increase in power with the kit installed. The recommended retail price is from $2,500-$3,000.

This XR was made to be an off road vehicle however, the previous owner had made it street legal by adding a few choice parts. First the wheels had to be changed out. There are 17 inch Excel wire spoke rims with street tires. Rear signal lights as well as a tail light had to be installed. The headlight had to put out enough light equal to that of a regular street bike. The Acerbis headlight did just fine. I also believe that the engine had to have some work done. Finally the whole bike had to be inspected by someone at the DMV to get plated.

Added a Japanese Rising Sun decal on the rear of the XR. Looks good eh?
