Vortex 520 Kitwritten by -- February 4th, 2008Filed under: 2007 Suzuki Gsxr600,Past Staff Bikes | Comments (0) |
Hi guys, it’s modification time!

So this is a Vortex 520 sprocket kit. Here’s a step by step installation How To.
Slide #1: Here is the stock sprocket, 40 tooth.
Slide #2. The tire is removed to change the gear box sprocket.
Slide #3. Here is the old 40 tooth sprocket disassembled.
Slide #4. Swapped out with a Vortex 43 tooth sprocket.
Slide #5. This is the new gear box sprocket installed (two teeth down).
Slide #6. Getting ready for re-assembly.
Slide #7. Assembly complete.
Slide #8. Different angle of new sprocket.
Slide #9. The End…(going for a test ride…)
So what we were looking for, out of the swap, was more torque to compensate for the lack of cc. However, with the gain of torque, we lose some top speed and gain acceleration. This could be useful for both stunt riding and closed track riding.
Hope you enjoyed the slide show!!! More to come!!! ♥
