What’s going on guys? If you own a 2005 or 2006 Suzuki Gsxr1000, I’ve got some important news for you! Alex just received a safety recall letter from Suzuki regarding these bikes.

Gsxr1000

Apparently, Suzuki has received reports of cracking or breakage of the motorcycle frame in certain extreme situations where unusually high stress is placed on the frame, such as front end collisions.

There have also been reports of breakage and cracking of the frame behind and below the steering neck when the motorcycle is subjected to repeated hard landings from hazardous maneuvers such as extreme or extended wheelies or other stunts.

While ordinary operation of the motorcycle does not create a risk, Suzuki has voluntarily decided to conduct this safety recall.

So bring in your Gsxr1000 to your dealership and they will inspect and install a frame brace to reinforce the frame. The appearance, performance and handling of the bike will remain unchanged.

If you have already gotten this done, Suzuki will reimburse you for the costs. For more information, please contact the American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Motorcycle Service Department, PO Box 1100, Brea, CA 92822-1100, or call (714) 527-1490.

Be careful guys! Get this done now!

    Goodbye Gsxr, Goodbye Riding

Sad news, guys. Today, I sold the Gsxr to Jason from California Sportbike (without the mods, of course!). I just couldn’t justify keeping it since I just don’t have the time to ride anymore. Jason runs a business under the nose of the University of California at Berkeley, supercharging sportbikes. This particluar bike was to receive his stage 2 kit, an Akrapovic full exhaust system, and be shipped off to some rich guy in Dubai.

    Bye Gixxer!

Today the good folks over at Bike Design sent us a pair of their frame sliders. There’s no need to cut or drill holes in your fairing panels because they’ve developed a special mounting kit. The crash pads are available in black or white. Check it out!

      Stay tuned!

What’s up guys? While I do love the Devil exhaust, I was bummed that I couldn’t use my Sato Racing titanium hanger. In addition, who else knew Suzuki tuning better than Yoshimura? So, I got one of these babies imported directly from Japan. It cost me quite a pretty penny, but when i saw it and held it in my hands, it was worth every cent!

You cannot purchase these in the states. Even the Euro ones are different. They don’t have the Japanese flag on the end can.

        Stay tuned!

          CRG Supersport Clutch

Hey guys! CRG Levers have become a must mod for me on every bike I own. Unfortunately, the Gsxr1k is such a new bike that they don’t have a correct fit for it yet from CRG. However, they did recommend the supersport clutch to compliment their brake lever.

This has a shorty lever attached to it.

          Stay tuned!
