When California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger toured the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum a few days ago, he couldn’t help himself. He had to show off the 1991 Indian motorcycle that he rode in one of the Terminator movies.

While he was here, he toured the special exhibit at the museum of famous motorcycles, which range from a 1903 Harley-Davidson to a 2008 MV Agusta. But it also includes a collection of movie motorcycles. They include bikes ridden in films like, the Wild Wild West; Batman and Robin; Star Trek and the World’s Fastest Indian.

What you saw was an Erik Buell 11900RR race bike fitted with indicators and a cooling fan, neither as you know, are required items on the racetrack. “What gives?” indeed.

Legally, Erik Buell should soon be free of the contractual shackles preventing him from talking about or competing with Harley-Davidson. So, stay tuned and be sure to check out Buell Boards.

<img src="http://inlineperformancemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/crowdsurfer-1.jpg" align="left" style="margin-right:15px;alt="" title="crowdsurfer-1" width="345" height="574" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6905" />

Hi guys, Paul here with an interesting application for those of you with iPhones. Scheduled to launch this Friday, it allows race fans to connect with each other at home and in the crowd as the superbike action unfolds.

To be released in time for the WSB Silverstone, Crowdsurfer connects Twitter users to share the action on the track, the banter in the crowd and gossip happening between users of the app at the event.

But never fret, even fans not at the event can join in too, getting a flavor of what it’s like to be there.

If you’re a fan of individual riders or teams you can even follow the tweets regarding your favorite racers and manufacturers.

The app will be available to download free from the iTunes store by Friday and will be usable for the remaining rounds of the British Superbike Championship.

The only problem I can foresee is that the massive amount of people using their phones at the same time can cause jams in the network. These kind of delays happen all the time in large crowds. Hopefully there is free Wi-Fi at the track to assist in the jam up.

Stay tuned and happy tweeting!

What’s up people? For those of our readers across the pond, Kawasaki is recalling around 1,000 ER6-f (Ninja 605r) models to replace the footguard and mounting bracket after it found in certain conditions can stop the rear brake being used effectively.

A Kawasaki statement reads: “Kawasaki has become aware that on some units of 2009 and 2010 ER-6f models, the rider’s footwear may contact the top edge of the lower right cowling when operating the rear brake. In a limited number of cases this can obstruct the rider from operating the rear brake pedal effectively.

“The company has decided to launch a recall campaign for affected machines, in both standard and ABS form, to replace the right hand foot guard and adjacent lower cowling bracket.

“A recall letter will be sent to all warranty registered owners of eligible units asking them to contact their nearest authorized dealer to get the free of charge modifications done. The rectification work on each machine will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.”

So take them in Ninja owners. It’s free!

Hey guys, Jon here. So, we have seen many spyshots of the new Ducati secret project bike for the past few weeks. What is it exactly, we still don’t know. Here is the latest shot released by Ducati most likely.

This shot clearly demonstrates its “generous” proportions. Is it a cruiser? Is it a muscle bike? What?

We know it’s got the Testastretta 11 degree engine, USD forks and Brembo Monoblocks. Those are all performance bike components. Then you’ve got the 240 rear tire and the huge size. Does that make it a cruiser?

Well, whatever it is, keep it right here for more updates. Be sure to log on to Ducatist for more information.

What’s up people? Today’s post is brought to you by the folks over at InBox Dollars. They offer you money for doing things you normally do while on the Internet anyways. So click on over to their site and show them some love.

The people at Inbox Dollars basically pay you to read emails, take surveys online, try brand name products, shop online, and even play games online. We all doe these things during our break, and lunch time, why not get paid for them? Click on over to InBox Dollars now!

Anyways, on to the news. Ducati has always said they wouldn’t release an 848S or 848R. Well, they have kept their word. So, Ducati has replaced its 848 middleweight with the new 848 EVO. Yup, they just gave it a new name. (EVO? What is this, BMW? and their non-M sDrive30i crap?!? -Ed)

With 140bhp at 10,500rpm and 72.3lb-ft of torque at 9,750rpm, the power hike comes from a tuned Testastretta Evoluzione engine and it’s contained by higher spec Brembo Monoblock brakes and a stock steering damper for the first time.

Other updates include new cylinder heads with revised port shapes, new cams with revised timing, a new piston crown shape, higher compression, larger throttle bodies and two lambda probes. The weight remains the same at a claimed 168kg.

New paint schemes will be offered alongside the traditional colors: red with a red frame and black wheels or “Dark Stealth” which uses either grey or matte black paint along with a black frame and black wheels.

Functions operated by the Multi-Controller include the trip computer; ESA II adjustable suspension; grip and seat heating; audio; navigation; secondary vehicle functions such as adaptive headlight orientation, languages and whatnot. It appears that the navigation system will also feature voice control. Additionally, there will be a “Bookmark” tab for easy retrieval of the most common functions.

Seriously, our we playing a video game or actually riding a motorcycle anymore?!?

Stay tuned for more updates.

Hi guys, Jon here. It seems that everyone is jumping in on the electrical vehicle band wagon, thinking that people are just going to suddenly stop liking the roar of a gas powered combustable engine. Possible, but not likely.

Anyways, the latest entry in on the electrical motorcycle pool is Brammo with their new Empulse electric motorcycle, which they claim is capable of 100mph and can go over 100 miles on a single charge. Not bad. Check it out.

Not bad looking eh? Nice shade of red? Maybe they can get their rider to wear the Iron Man Mark V motorcycle suit while lapping at Laguna Seca? LOL!

Anyways, three versions of the Empulse are planned: the 6.0, 8.0 and 10.0. Model names denote range, so the cheapest 6.0 model will go 60 miles on a charge, the 8.0 will do 80 miles and the 10.0 will do 100 miles.

The 6.0 is set to cost as little as $9,995 when it goes on sale next summer. The 8.0 at $11,995, and the 10.0 for $13,995. Stay tuned for more updates.

What’s going on guys? Remember how excited I got by the Dark Knight motorcycle suit? Well, from the same company now comes the Iron Man Motorcycle Suit. A supposedly “screen accurate” replica of the Mark V suit Tony throws on in Monaco to battle Mickey Rourke. Check it out.

I know. Not so impressive, considering the “real” one was made of metal and CGI’d. And it is expensive too; the entire getup sets you back $1,099. But for that, you do actually get what appears to be a functional motorcycle suit. There’s CE armor, thick leather and stretch inserts that will enable you to move around your bike.

The entire suit comprises of six individual pieces. The jacket and pants are separate. And then you got the pair of gloves and boots.

According to the website, the suit have etreme form molded leather detailing, pearl red and silver aluminum metallic leather, light sensitive reflective accents, and heavy duty stretch spandex inserts.

Unfortunately the suit doesn’t collapse neatly into a brief case. It is made from grade A cowhide, breathable mesh cordura, and has a removable interior vest.

Cool enough. But I want to know is, WTF is the helmet? That’s the coolest part of the costume. Oh well, I guess I could always contact the maker of the one from the video below.

Hi guys, Paul here again with more spy shots of Ducati’s 1200cc V-twin muscle cruiser. What an oxymoron, eh?

The new image below gives the best look yet at the bike’s overall appearance and reveal a host of fascinating new details. Like how it looks like a Monster on steroids.

The bike was caught leaving the factory last week as it underwent final prototype testing before a launch in November at the Milan motorcycle show.

The bike is a 150+ bhp 1200cc V-twin that has the appearance of a sport-cruiser but the performance of a superbike, with brilliant handling according to insiders, who have also revealed it will dramatically undercut weight expectations despite the imposing size.

What I don’t understand is why go from performance motorcycles to this? The 240 rear wheel must wreck havok on cornering and turns. I always thought Ducati to be progressive, not regressive. Oh well, maybe we should give Ducati the benefit of the doubt.

We will see in due time. Stay tuned. Check out Ducatist in the meantime.

What’s up people? Kawasaki’s new ZX-10R will touch down in late August, with your first chance to see it being at the Nurburgring WSB round on September 5, 2010.

The presentation will be part of Kawasaki’s ongoing attempt to convince the world that it means WSB business, a campaign which began when it debuted the bike in a public test at Suzuka last week.

But the sense of purpose around the new Ninja isn’t just marketing hype. Around ten of the firm’s top engineers have formed a new department within the company focused solely on WSB.

This team has led development of the new bike, with the road bike division playing a secondary role. This has been a reversal of the normal situation for any Japanese firm.

Hi guys. We have all been hearing how Yamaha’s new 1200cc Super Tenere is a superb all-rounder, but it can actually be a liability off-road due to the ABS.

The ABS can, in fact, prevent your bike from coming to a stop while off-road. For example, if you’re descending a slope and trying to slow down, the ABS will sense the wheels locking, as they inevitably do on dirt. The ABS will then release it for a moment in the hope they will regain full grip. But that is something that never happens in this situation.

What to do? You need to be able to turn the ABS off. Here is how.

The fact is, while off road, you need to be able to lock the wheels, and to moderate the brakes yourself in the area of traction between full grip and full slide.

I hope this helps you Super Tenere owners out there. In fact, I hope this helps all of you out there riding bikes equipped with ABS.

Stay tuned for more updates.

This video is of the 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 400R considering to be released in Europe to bridge the gap between the learner 125cc bikes and the 600cc middleweights. Check it out.

The bike, which features a 399cc DOHC parallel twin capable of delivering 44bhp, is set to go on sale in Japan and Canada, and there are calls for the bike to come to the United States to fill a void in the market, since out lowest capacity bikes consists of the Ninja 250.

But who knows? Our emission laws are horrible, so it might not be feasible for Kawasaki to release here.

Hey what’s going on guys? For those of you looking to stand out from the crowd of Ducatis, Triumphs, and MV Agustas, you can now get your hands on a number of cut price Moto Morini models, due to the Italian firm’s assets being sold off.

No, they are not going under just quite yet. The manufacturer is awaiting a new buyer after entering liquidation last year. Therefore, it’s assets, including a range of new bikes, are being sold cheap.

Interested buyers can get their hands on a 2007 Moto Morini 9 ½ for €3,600 (that’s about $4,581.12 folks), while other cheap deals include €4,800 ($6,107.88 USD) for a Corsaro Nero and a 1200 Sport Nero for €5,760 ($7,329.46 USD).

To get your hands on one print and fill out a copy of the Moto Morini Inventory Form and fax it to the number at the top.

According to the official Moto Morini website, there are no dealers of the brand here in the United States. However, I do know of one that just closed in Corte Madera, CA called Moto Marin. So, I am not sure if we could get these discounted prices here in the states, but there is no harm trying at these prices!

Hi guys, Paul here. Motorcycles have been popular in the mainstream media as of late. Case in point, an art-inspired window display at Selfridges in London features two Honda Fireblades, one complete, the other dismantled, looking like the world’s best Meccano set. Check it out.

The two blades are set up to balance at either end of a set of scales. The artist Kyle Bean, wanted to use something minimalistic but with presence, completely out of context, stylish and compact. So a motorcycle was the perfect choice.

“A motorbike ticked all the boxes for what I wanted to achieve for the window display. The Fireblade is such an iconic machine worldwide, with Honda also being renowned for their innovation, so this machine and working with Honda was the only way I really wanted to go.”

The Fireblade display can be seen in the Selfridges windows until the end of August 2010.

What’s up people? Remember when Paul Walker owed Vin Diesel a ten-second car, and everyone thought that was impressive? Well, a superstock BMW S1000RR has broken the nine-second quarter-mile barrier at the Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio recently.

The Brock’s performance S1000RR, in the hands of two time AMA Dragbike Real Street champion Jeremy Teasley, recorded a time of 8.971 seconds at 157.93mph, before bettering it with an 8.95 second run. Eat your heart out Dominic Toreto.

The bike was run in AMA Dragbike SuperSport trim, with the only changes allowed from stock being lowered suspension, modified gearing, aftermarket exhaust, a fuel-injection controller, and ceramic wheel bearings.

I wonder if betting is allowed at these drag races? That is a whole other venue that can be tapped for more money. I mean, at they allow horse racing betting at the tracks, right? What is so different about drag racing betting than horse betting? They should really look into this.

Hey, what’s going on guys? Today’s post is brought to you by the good folks over at March Group. The March Group is a team specializing in the acquisition of medium sized companies. And in times like these, with so many companies going under or getting sold and absorbed, their services are needed in a big way. Think title company.

Anyways, on to the big news. An Italian design company named GP Design have given the Suzuki Gladius a complete redesign to make it look like a sporty supermoto. Looks like a Hypermotard to me, but no, Ducati didn’t acquire Suzuki… Check it out.

The ‘Nasty’ prototype, as it is called, is equipped with new handlebars with handguards, a new taller seat in alcantara, an aftermarket exhaust and a supermoto bashguard.

But the real innovation is a fluorescent paintjob on the rims and handguards, improving visibility at night and making the ride safer. For the moment there are no plans to put this version of the Gladius on sale, however as the changes are fairly simple, I wouldn’t be surprised if they released a bolt on kit.

It could be a good thing for Suzuki’s entry-level naked bike, whose sales have been nothing short of crappy.Hmm, maybe Ducati should give the March Group a call after all…

Despite difficult testing conditions of wind and occasional rain, factory test rider Hidemichi Takahashi was said to be pleased with the machine so far.

The pictures come just as Kawasaki R&D department prepares itself for a 2-day test at the Suzuka race track in Japan.

The 2-day test will be used to further refine the bike for the 2011 WSB Championship.

Rumor has it that the road version is said to boast over 190bhp and weigh in at 198kg; that’s 10kg lighter than the current model. That’s within S1000RR and RSV4 range. It’s nice to see the Japanese companies taking aim at reclaiming the liter bike crown.

So start saving your nickels and reduce your horse race betting tendencies, because you are going to want the new ZX-10R when it comes out!

Hey guys, Jon here. Happy forth of July! You know what my favorite thing about Bimmer motorcycles is? All of the technology from their awesome cars will slowly transfer their way over to their bikes.

The new BMW K1600GT will feature an optional Adaptive Headlight – an electronic system will adjust the headlight’s beam to compensate for front and rear pitch as well as lean angle, keeping the beam flat and optimized for best visibility at night. Check it out.

Sweet, huh? This is the first time a system of this kind has ever been fitted to a motorcycle.

That’s it for this time folks. Stay tuned.

Hi guys, Paul here again. Remember how cool you thought the Lightcycles were back when the first Tron movie came out years ago? Well, now you can own one of them!

Custom bike builders Parkers Brothers Choppers are selling five, full size, working Tron Lightcycles with a starting price of $35,000 each. Ouch!

The bikes haven’t been built yet, but the Parkers Brothers claim they’ll feature hubless wheels, carbon fiber bodywork and neon lighting behind plexi-glass panels.

They are planning to build only five bikes, each one in a different color. A $5000 deposit will start the build, and their progress will be broadcast on YouTube.

The bikes are being sold through eBay. Build time is expected to be between six and eight weeks, just in time for the USA launch of the new Hollywood film Tron Legacy.

No word yet on performance numbers, etc.

If you are interested and have the cash, please contact Parker Brothers Choppers at (321) 960-0756 or write them at 1243 N. Harbour City Blvd. Melbourne, FL 32935 or parkerbrotherschoppers@yahoo.com.

Stay tuned for more updates.

The yellow makes the bike look like a Yamaha to me. All that’s missing is the black flames. Don’t get me wrong, I love Yamahas, but I wish BMW would have been more innovative.

It’s not currently clear if these replace other colors (maybe that slime green). Actually we don’t even know if these colors are slated for th United States.

Hi guys. Ducati’s new Mega-Monster musclebike and rival to the Yamaha V-Max has been spotted testing on the roads around the Bologna factory. Hat’s off to Motoblog.it for scooping the exclusive!

The pictures were taken as the two bikes were testing on the road and show a big muscle bike with twin rows of LED rear lights and twin side-mounted exhausts, a la Streefighter.

Little is known about the bike in terms of mechanical details but its clear this will be a high-powered V-twin using a Ducati trellis frame with a single sided swingarm to take on the Yamaha V-Max.

The bike is expected to debut later this year.

Be sure to check out Ducatist for more information. Stay tuned for more updates.

Hi guys, Paul here. Kawasaki has announced that the new Ninja 400R (or ER-4f for those of you across the pond) will be sold in Canada at $7499 CAD, but have not confirmed whether it will be coming to the United States.

The bike is a toned down version of the twin-cylinder ER-6f, and is seen by many as an important way to ease beginners up the motorcycling stepladder towards bigger machines in the same way that 400cc sports bikes did in the early 90s.

Seeing as how the Ninja 500 was discontinued, this could be the bike between 125s and 600s. Currently only the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, assorted dirt bikes and a few scooters are available to beginners looking to step up.

The trick is to price these things right, or it would be hard to justify buying a 400cc bike if the 650 version only costs a few hundred more, and is only marginally cheaper to insure.

So how would you price the 400 if you were Kawasaki? Then again, that is probably why the 400cc bike won’t be available in the U.S. And if it were, would anyone you know actually buy it?

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to check out Ninja Boards for more information.
