Hey guys, Jon here again. Stand aside Alpinestar and Dainese. Rejean Neron’s Safety Sphere is a protective suit which inflates to a man-sized sphere, completely enveloping the rider in the event of a crash. It inflates in five hundredths of a second, cushioning the rider for any impact (except perhaps those into giant spikes) and consists of a loose fitting coverall suit comprised of two layers of fabric. Check it out.

Neron explains: “The outer layer is made up of a highly resistant parachute type material. The inner layer is made up of a thin, moderately elastic synthetic material. In a collision situation, the passengers are thrown from the motorcycle, the cord connecting them to the motorcycle seat disconnects, the electrical voltage plummets, and the electronic circuit processor inside the belt buckle housing of each occupant connects the 9 volt battery to an electric igniter in the back housing of their respective suits.”

This triggers the firing of an explosive canister of propellant called nitrocellulose. Neron is a motorcycling idealist who believes bikes could play a massive role in alleviating congestion in 21st century cities, if only riders’ fear of crashing’s consequences could be reduced to those of the prang-happy car driver. He’s been working on the Safety Sphere for many years, through countless iterations and is now looking for backing to bring the design to production.

What’s good y’all? Here’s a special video with some musclemen on fast sport bikes. It looks like these guys were having a nice time riding on Nassau streets, when all of a sudden one guy decides to have a meathead moment and nearly takes his buddy’s leg off. Pay close attention to the dialogue; it makes for very good reality TV.

So Bobby and the boys learned two valuable lessons. For one, never ever ride crazy on public roads and two, gear would have been appropriate to have. Okay actually, it seems they need to learn a lot more like honing their basic motorcycle skills, but they were still very entertaining to watch. This is Studdly signing off.

Hey, what’s going on everyone? In what can only be described as an epic fail, Nissan has released, and then pulled, this commercial for their Juke.

How the higher ups at Nissan let this commercial through is beyond comprehension. Since when did it become okay to run down motorcyclists?

We, as motorcycles are already at a serious disadvantage on the roads. Why encourage such a deadly encounter? One commenter of the video makes a good point in that it makes no difference if it’s “fantasy.” It is as irresponsible of an ad as a smoking commercial.

UPDATE: Seems like Nissan somehow got the commercial pulled from YouTube, so here is a replacement video from Nissan I think you guys might enjoy.

Hey, what’s going on everyone? As a class, we motorcyclists are often dumped into a general category of road hooligans. We are portrayed as gang members, wannabe tough guys, outlaws, you name it, in the media.

So, it is natural for the general public to have a negative attitude towards us. Therefore, I was so glad to see that in other parts of the world, motorcyclists were not only accepted but treated with such kindness.

The post title is misleading so check out this video shot by someone obviously using an iPhone or some other smartphone of a policeman at the Isle of Man.

Hey guys, Jon here again. With the economy the way it is, it is also inevitable that crime has risen. An industrious garage owner in Mexico has invented a revolutionary new anti-theft device that could be the perfect way to protect your pride and joy against bike thieves.

Fed up with his garage being robbed of equipment, the owner spread the word he had bought a Mexican Lion and it lived in his workshop. Sure enough, the locals caught sight of the lion and the garage hasn’t been burgled since.

Except ‘the lion‘ wasn’t a lion but a dog trimmed to mimic a lion. See picture below.

Time to trim those chihuahuas and poodles people.

The vehicle has a 2005 Yamaha R1 engine installed in a Beisse Shifter Kart. It puts out around 180 HP and weighs about 220lbs.

If you have a short attention span, skip to 7:50 and watch till the end for the best part.

Try doing that anywhere here in the Bay Area and you’ll end up having the thing impounded within ten minutes!
