Short Skirts Cause Summer Accidents

written by Alex -- July 28th, 2010

What’s going on guys? I always knew that we were more likely to get into accidents during the summer months, but was thoroughly surprised at what the number one cause is.

A British car insurance company claims that male drivers have far more accidents in the summer than women do. The alleged reason: dudes are distracted by ladies’ short skirts.

The source of this crap, yes crap, is the Telegraph, who based their report on information obtained from an insurance company called Sheilas’ Wheels.

According to the data, men made 16.4% more claims last summer than in other seasons. And while 25% of men said they’d had an accident or near-accident in the summer over the last five years, only 17% of women said the same.

These stats don’t really seem all that conclusive to me. I mean, how big is this insurance company? Do they have ten clients? Or ten thousand? I just thought I’d share this with you guys. Makes for amusing reading, no? Plus, it gave me the excuse to post up that picture above.

Stay tuned for more updates. But, just to be safe guys, keep your eyes on the road and away from the honeys while riding.

Iron Man Mark V Motorcycle Suit

What’s going on guys? Remember how excited I got by the Dark Knight motorcycle suit? Well, from the same company now comes the Iron Man Motorcycle Suit. A supposedly “screen accurate” replica of the Mark V suit Tony throws on in Monaco to battle Mickey Rourke. Check it out.

I know. Not so impressive, considering the “real” one was made of metal and CGI’d. And it is expensive too; the entire getup sets you back $1,099. But for that, you do actually get what appears to be a functional motorcycle suit. There’s CE armor, thick leather and stretch inserts that will enable you to move around your bike.

The entire suit comprises of six individual pieces. The jacket and pants are separate. And then you got the pair of gloves and boots.

According to the website, the suit have etreme form molded leather detailing, pearl red and silver aluminum metallic leather, light sensitive reflective accents, and heavy duty stretch spandex inserts.

Unfortunately the suit doesn’t collapse neatly into a brief case. It is made from grade A cowhide, breathable mesh cordura, and has a removable interior vest.

Cool enough. But I want to know is, WTF is the helmet? That’s the coolest part of the costume. Oh well, I guess I could always contact the maker of the one from the video below.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Jon

Hey guys, Jon here with another funny motorcycle related video.

So, how do you sell a product like car and motorcycle insurance in Russia? With breasts, of course. Hey, if it worked for Carl’s Jr., it’ll work here. Warning: This video is definitely NSFW.

Sex sells, right?

Stay tuned for more updates.

Aprilia RSV4 Takes on the Tablecloth

Hey guys, Jon here again. Remember the tablecloth trick that the BMW S1000RR did? Well, not to be outdone, the folks over at Aprilia came out with their own video. Both European manufacturers released brand new liter bikes in the same year and have been doing battle both on the sales floor and the race track ever since. Check out Aprilia’s video.

So how does Aprilia benefit from this video? Satire, duh. BMW has proven that it can build a proper sportbike with its 193-horsepower S1000RR. The Bavarian company has also shown its marketing chops, most memorably with the viral tablecloth video we featured a few months back.

But it’s Aprilia that has the greater racing experience, and that’s coming forth this season in competition. Presently, the Italian marque is leading the Superbike manufacturer’s championship with its RSV4 while BMW is second to last. So who has the last laugh?

Stay tuned for more updates.

Man Moons & Throws Puppy at Hells Angels

Paul

Hi guys, Paul here again with some disturbing but funny motorcycle related news. A young man in Bavaria who reportedly forgot to take his depression medication had the cajones to taunt a group of Hells Angels at their clubhouse.

He reportedly dropped his pants, threw a puppy at the bikers, and then made his getaway in a stolen bulldozer. Yes, I don’t know which is the dumbest move.

The story goes that the 26-year-old drove onto the biker clubhouse grounds over the weekend in Allershausen, a town just north of Munich. There the student pulled down his Bermuda shorts, mooning a group of bikers before throwing a puppy at them. Yeah dudes, a puppy.

Then the man fled the scene, stopped at a construction site, and rode off in a bulldozer. But his slow pace caused a traffic jam. After making it a little more than a mile and a half along the highway, the man hitched a ride with a truck, which let him off at his home in Eching, where the police apprehended him.

He was checked into a psychiatric clinic for treatment. Meanwhile, not to worry folks, the puppy he tossed at the bikers is being cared for by the local animal shelter.

Wow, it’ll be a long time till I visit Munich. I hate to think that they let crazy yahoos like this guy have the run of the town. I would definitely look into check what’s around the area, maybe look up local business reviews as well.

Anyways, I am just glad the puppy is okay and the police got to the guy before the bikers did.

Stay tuned for more updates.
