Paul

Hi guys, Paul here again. Kawasaki is releasingh a faired Z1000S version of the 1043cc Z1000 naked bike for 2011. Check it out.

The bike is based around the Z1000 but has a full fairing and according to insiders it also has an adjustable windscreen and will have a range of accessories aimed at making it a much more accomplished touring machine. In keeping with other bikes in this category this will almost certainly mean hard panniers, top box and other accessories.

The above image of the new bike is courtesy of MCN. Since then, more images have surfaced of the Z1000SX.

The Z1000SX is being presented by Kawasaki as a modern day useable superbike like the GPZ900 and ZZR1100 and is basically a fully-faired version of the Z1000 naked bike with the same 128bhp, 1043cc inline four-cylinder motor.

That means the same 128bhp with a smooth and grunty power output, the same cast alloy frame, front 41mm forks and horizontally-mounted rear shock. The twin exhaust system is the same, the brakes are identical 300mm petal-style twin front brakes with four-piston radial calipers.

Hey, what’s going on guys? We have here the world’s first pictures of the most powerful and advanced Kawasaki ZX-10R yet.

Well, we will see about that once we pit it against the 2004-05 version.

The 2011 bike is all-new, with power boosted to an estimated 185bhp, weight down 10kg to 198kg, and one of the most advanced traction control and ride-by-wire engine management systems in the superbike class.

The bike reflects more than three years of work for Kawasaki, which drafted in MotoGP engineers to help with the design.

I guess they really wanted to get it right before taking the Europeans head on in 2011.

Kawasaki’s new traction control system is called S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control) and is a far more sophisticated version of the widely-praised system fitted to the GTR1400 tourer.

It will be interesting to see how it will work on a bike as wild as the Zx-10R. Stay tuned for more updates.

What’s up people? KTM has released a new teaser video for their upcoming 125cc DUKE, which is due for release in the spring.

Sorry folks, this is one of those that’s only available in Europe.

As the small engine capacity implies, the bike is very much aimed at the teenage market.

Watch the video to see what we mean.

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to check out KTM Boards.

Hi guys. Triumph has accidentally unveiled its 2011 Speed Triple on the Triumph Accessories website ahead of the official launch next week.

There is no official information about the machine but from the pictures it’s clear the iconic naked bike has been given a complete makeover to include new lights, new lighter cast alloy chassis, new wheels, swingarm and clocks. Check it out.

Even the 1050cc inline three-cylinder engine has been given a performance boost, too, according to American certification papers recently filed.

We also know the new bike has shed more than 5kg from its overall weight, probably due to the new cast alloy chassis.

Follow the link here, click ‘View the Accessory Range’ blue button on the right, and then select ‘2011 Speed Triple’ from the drop down menu (although it’s likely Triumph will disable the link soon).

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to log on to Triumph Boards to discuss.

Hey, what’s going on guys? Our buddy Brian over at SHIFT Racing sent us the following video for your viewing pleasure.

Apparently, Josh Herrin went out to the 2011 Shift Street Sales Meeting a couple of weeks ago to spin some laps with their sales reps at Thunderhill Raceway Park.

He threw on his SHIFT Racing suit and gloves and went out on his Yamaha R6. They also threw some Go Pro cameras on his bike and got some pretty cool footage.

So take a ride around Thunderhill Raceway with Josh. Enjoy!

Stay tuned for more updates folks.
