Hi guys. I know this isn’t motorcycle related but I found this video online that was hilarious. Check it out.

I figured that Bobsledding and motorcycling are not mainstream sports yet, so that’s where I got the connection. It’s only when funny things like this happen that the general public here in the US pay any attention to the sport.

    Rossi to Formula One (again?)

What’s up people? To celebrate his ninth world championship, Ferrari let my boy, Valentino Rossi have a go in the F2008 Formula One car at Mugello. The result? A 1:21.9 time, just tenths of a second off Kimi Raikkonen’s outright lap record of 1:21.67, set in the same car.

“We tried different set ups and he improved a lot: this means that the driver learns quickly and has room for improvement,” said Luca Baldisserri, the director of Ferrari’s motorsport operations.

Don’t get to excited though. Remember, this was a close course, and he was the only one on the track. Being in a race with other riders is a lot different than being on the track by yourself.

So, does this mean we’ll lose Rossi to Formula One? Not likely. At 30, Rossi is a decade older than the sport’s rookies. And remember, Rossi famously left Honda in favor of having fun at Yamaha. The corporate environment surrounding Formula One would not likely be his cup of tea.

    Stay tuned for more updates.

      Bimota DB8

      Jon

Hey guys, it’s Jon here again with another cool new motorcycle.

I am always surprised by the number of 1098/1198s out on the roads in this economy. Money aside, don’t you hate having the exact same motorcycle as everyone else?

Compared to the slightly more expensive DB7, the Bimota DB8 adopts the 168bhp Ducati 1198 engine, weighs in at 178kg, adds a passenger seat and costs only $33,000 thanks to plastic (as opposed to carbon) bodywork and an aluminum instead of carbon sub frame.

The suspension loses its ability to adjust high and low speed compression and rebound. Not huge news, but the DB8 is a great way to get 1198 performance without looking like everyone else.

Hi guys, Paul here with a new modification for the Ducati Hypermotard. As you guys may already know, our Hypermotard started its life out as a 1100 standard version. So, the forks that came with it from the factory are Marzocchi 50mm not-really-adjustable ones. They don’t look too pretty either.

So, today we are going to begin installation of the RAC USD 50mm aftermarket forks the good folks at Marzocchi sent to us. Check out part one of the video.

These forks not only look pretty sweet in all black, they are made of aluminum, have rebound compression external adjusters and weigh only 8.6 kg.

These also come with some optional features, if you pay more, such as magnesium caps and dropouts, and titanium springs.

Well, that’s it for this time.

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to check out Ducatist for more information.

Hey guys, this story has been making the rounds on the motorcycle forums, so I thought I’d share it with you guys.

Johnstown, PA (BNSE): Local and state police scoured the hills outside rural Johnstown, Pennsylvania, after reports of three animal rights activists going missing after attempting to protest the wearing of leather at a large motorcycle gang rally this weekend. Two others, previously reported missing, were discovered by fast food workers “duct taped inside several fast food restaurant dumpsters,” according to police officials.

“Something just went wrong,” said a still visibly shaken organizer of the protest. “Something just went horribly, horribly, wrong.”
