Hey guys, for those of you looking forward to a brand spanking new 2010 Suzuki, I’ve got some bad news for you. Suzuki America has confirmed that they will import no GSX-Rs or other streetbikes into the American market for 2010 as the unsold 2009 models on dealer floors are expected to satisfy demand.

Overall, US motorcycle sales through the first three quarters of this year total just 434,370 compared to 771,950 during the same period last year, a drop of a whopping 44 percent. Suzuki has announced no new street models for the 2010 model year.

Hey guys! This is the 2010 Suzuki GSX-R1000Z – the official, limited edition to celebrate 25 years of the GSX-R series.

Mechanically the bike is the same as the 2009 GSX-R1000 K9 (the K10 model will remain unchanged too), but with unique cosmetic changes limited to the 1000 limited-run bikes.

The frame, swingarm and parts of the fairing are painted in a unique gold with pearl white fairing panels.

There’s a numbered plaque on the top yoke to prove each bike’s authenticity, and the exhausts and wheels are etched with a 25th anniversary graphic.

The ‘GSX-R’ logos on the fairing and also on the key are unique too. The GSX-R1000Z has a gold ‘R’ instead of the traditional red color, further marking out the anniversary editions. No news of whether or not these will be available in the U.S.

Hey guys, it’s Jon again with some more breaking news. Yamaha has unveiled this first official picture of the new FZ8 middleweight naked street bike, but nothing else.

It is believed the FZ8 will replace Yamaha’s current FZ6 models as a sporty middleweight naked, leaving the XJ6, XJ6 Diversion and the new-for-2010 XJ6 Diversion F to cater for the novice and all-rounder markets.

It’s main rivals will be the BMW F800R, Honda Hornet 600, Triumph Street Triple R and the Aprilia Shiver 750.

The engine is believed to be unique to the FZ8, but draws on the design of Yamaha’s current supersport engines, and tuned to suit the naked bike application.

The FZ8 means the torque-free FZ6 will be dropped from Yamaha’s European range, again giving the company a bike with an engine capable of competing with other middleweight nakeds, something Yamaha hasn’t had since the Fazer’s Thundercat-derived powertrain was killed by tightening emissions regulations. Nothing else is officially known about the FZ8, including its likelihood of reaching US shores.

        Erik Buell Leaves Harley

What’s up people? Erik Buell, the founder of Buell Motorcycles, has left Harley-Davidson to start his own race shop that will supply Buell racers.

Buell Motorcycles was closed by Harley a month ago as part of a plan to cut costs and Erik was told to work for Harley. At the time of the closure he made an emotional video in which he appeared close to tears.

He’s made a video this time too. It’s worth watching, at times he appears close to laughter. Kind of freaky, if you ask me…

IPM will still continue to support Buell owners through the forum we sponsor, Buell Boards. Stay tuned!

Hey, what’s up guys? BMW has released a video showing the new six cylinder Concept6 bike that we reported on last week. There’s no sound of the engine in the video (just the inevitable dance music. Damn Germans…), and no action footage of the bike, but you get a half-decent impression of the size of the engine.

The BMW Motorrad Concept 6 is a six-cylinder bike and stands for supreme smoothness and superior power. The new BMW straight-six will further expand the K-Series in the foreseeable future.

          Stay tuned.
