MotoStars - Celebrities + Motorcycles: Book Review

Our culture has always been infatuated by widely-recognized or famous people who command high degrees of public and media attention. Our newsstands are cluttered with rags that probe into every aspect of celebrity life. And, we all can’t help but read about it!

It is, of course, no wonder that sooner or later, our people (motorcycle enthusiasts, of course!) jumped on the bandwagon of mainstream coverage. This is nothing new either. From James Dean’s motorcycle to the Aprilia in Transformers, we have kept an eye out for media cameos of our favorite rides.

So now it brings us to the book in question. “MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles” is actually a dynamic and engaging exhibit displayed at the AMA’s Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum.

However, for those of us who can’t make it to the Museum in person, the official book of the exhibit is the next best thing — and would make the perfect holiday gift for the motorcyclist. Curator David Morris has compiled hundreds of pictures and talked with dozens of celebrities whose bikes are featured, including Pat Boone, Arlen Ness, Neil Peart, Francesco Quinn, Roland Sands and many more. The in-depth stories will draw you in, proving this is much more than just a book of pretty pictures. Get it here.

Without giving away too much of the book, this richly illustrated 168-page companion to the exhibit presents a comprehensive examination of the relationship between celebrities and motorcycling. In addition to exploring celebrities’ fascination with motorcycle culture, the book delves into the impact of celebrity culture on the motorcycle industry.

So, go on, get a copy for that motorcycle enthusiast in your life. Just in time for the holidays too!

So, as many of you already know, I really really hate bicyclists. Remember what I wrote a year ago? So, I came across this on YouTube and, please, just watch the first half of it. It’s great! I love seeing those people eat shit!

Ah, maybe I have a sick sense of humor. I don’t know. Well, I hoped it at least gave you guys a small chuckle. See you next time people! Where’s the rest of that turkey…

Das Contest!

Alright guys and gals, so we’re going to try something new. So, those of you guys who read about motorcycles and obviously know enough to install parts on your bikes, I’ve got a question for ya: can you ride? Do you have proof?

We’re opening a contest for all of our readers to submit their own riding footage to be compiled into a video with IPM. The winners will also receive a full resolution version via downloadable link and a reflective IPM badge Mona talked about a few weeks ago.

We want to see some cool rides tearing up the twisties, smoking tires, screeching brakes, and anything you think worthy enough to be in this video. So this is your time to get on our radar. Who knows, we may be installing the next great mod on your bike!

So details, details details. I know you want them. Send your submissions to Mona@inlineperformancemag.com or Dan@inlineperformancemag.com. We’ll sift through it all and let the winners know who’s been picked and give you all a nice Christmas present.

Remus Exhaust on 848 After

What’s up guys? So the Remus system has been on the 848 now for a few weeks. The exhaust can packing should be stablized by now. This usually gives the exhaust its permanent sound. When we made a sound clip before, it had just been installed. Let’s see how the sound has matured since then.

It is still loud as hell! But I think it has lost its annoying background whining. Don’t worry guys, we had people at all ends of the street pausing traffic for me to make these videos. I’m too important to IPM for them to be risking my life! Haha, just kidding. Please don’t fire me…

Till next time guys! I live to fight another day!
