Bimota DB5R!!

So on one of our many trips to Hattar Motorsports I see a beautiful Bimota DB5R and I just can’t help myself, and there was no sign on it that said “Please do not sit on” so I sat right on it. Of course I find out later that I’m not really supposed to sit on it, but hey at least I got to take a picture before I got kicked off.

This model of Bimota has only ten made in the world and this one just so happens to be number 8. For those of you who don’t know much about Bimota here’s some specs. Bimota is an Italian based company founded by BIanchi MOrri and TAmburini. This one is a 1079cc bike is powered by a Ducati 1100 DS engine mounted in a lightweight trellis frame. It used various parts from the Benelli Tornado including the screen and mirrors. It also features full carbon fiber fairings, an exposed dry clutch, gold OZ Racing wheels and of course the special Bimota paintwork. This bike comes in at a retail price lower than its predecessor, the DB5 Mille, at $36,800.So enjoy the picture… now I have evidence to brag that I got to straddle a rare piece of work.

Check out this rider who crashes and does a little dance to avoid getting hit. Can’t pay for exposure like that! It was during a MotoGP event to boot!

On another note, what is a skatman? Is he trying to say s*it man?

Zard Full Exhaust System

So I placed the order for the Zard full exhaust system in stainless steel over a month ago. Now, I’m not going to disclose which dealer this was, but this particular vendor doesn’t stock his parts. What does this mean? This means that after I place my order and send in my payment, THEN this vendor calls up Italy and has them ship it over to him, THEN he ships it over to me. OMG… Then to top it all off, this system didn’t come with instructions. I mean, we don’t really need it here, but it’s damn annoying.

It gets worse. This particular system comes in two options. One includes a CAT like ours, and one does not. We were not even given the choice! Just FYI, I would have wanted the straight through pipe. And finally, ours didn’t come with a db killer. Not that i want one, but hey, I paid full price and I used BUY IT NOW and paid by PAYPAL, which I hate.

Just friendly information folks. When buying from this particular feebay vendor, ask if he has it in stock before pushing that SUBMIT button.

Anyways, on to the video!

Now onto more eye candy!

Check out that carbon exhaust!

Daytona 675 Engine Covers

I have been carefully picking the appropriate colors of the aftermarket components for my Street Triple ever since I started working on mine. After installing the chrome wheels, I noticed that the rest of the bike parts had “cheap” black components. Not representative of a European bike, in my opinion.

So what to do? I stripped the nicer brown covers off the Daytona 675 Track Bike and installed them on the Street Triple. I had to purchase new gaskets but at less than $10 a pop, it was all good. I think that the brown covers match the white bike much better. What do you think?
